CHIP Lab at SPSP 2025!!!

The CHIP Lab is proud to have multiple members who presented at the Society for Personality and Social Psychology's (SPSP) annual conference in February!!


Dr. Xanni Brown gave her talk Antecedents of Racial Group Status Threat Among White Americans, in the Dominant Group Responses to Social Shifts: Intergroup and Intraindividual Approaches session. This talk encapsulated the wonderful work Dr. Brown did as a part of their dissertation and highlighted how the changing demographics of the nation may elicit group status threat among different groups of White Americans. Roshonda Bissainthe and Alec Davis also presented posters during the main conferences and at preconferences. Roshonda presented her poster, Right or Privilege? A Qualitative Exploration of Voter Sentiments, which examined how perceptions of voting was the same and varied between Black and White Americans. Alec presented his poster, Understanding the experience of student-athlete miscategorizations among Black college attendees, which explored Black college attendees' experiences of being assumed to be student-atheltes and how this impacted them.
